Help name the Red Clay demonstration project!
This new pocket park being built at Cypress and Dalmation streets in Kennett Square Borough needs a name! How will this name be chosen? We are running a three step process:
Let’s get ideas! Anyone can submit potential names that meet certain criteria. See below for the criteria and to submit names until July 31, 2023.
The Red Clay Park Advisory Group will then be asked to choose three names, which will then be voted on by the public.
The name will be unveiled at the pocket park’s grand opening!
Submit potential names for the pocket park until July 31, 2023
In order to be considered, the name must reference at least one of the following criteria:
Natural, geological or other features of the new pocket park;
The geographical location of the new pocket park;
Native plants or animals found in our area; or
Cultural or historical significance of the surrounding neighborhood.
Other considerations will include whether the name translates easily into Spanish and how well it gives identifying information on how to find the pocket park. We will not consider submissions that name the park after specific individuals.
